September
Hello, Pumpkintown Pals,
It’s September and I’m obsessed with all things pumpkin! Here are my first Fun Fall Five – fun thoughts and activities that are happy, inspiring and, well, pumpkiny! (just made that word up).
So here goes.
One
Books
I started the pumpkin season by making PUMPKIN MAC AND CHEESE. It’s creamy, comforting, and delicious. The recipe is from the book Pumpkin It Up! by Eliza Cross. Thanks Eliza!
Two
The Worst Witch by Jill Murphy
I love reading anything about magic! Especially around Halloween. When I stumbled across the Worst Witch series, I was thrilled. I read the whole series. The stories are so fun and are great for family reading nights. (BTW, I’m totally in love with Mildred Hubble, the main character). Sadly, Jill Murphy passed away last year. Miss you Jill.
Three
Pumpkin Peeps
This craft is worth writing about again – thumbprint pumpkin people. Just press your finger on a spongy inkpad, press down and decorate with a skinny black marker. I don’t know why, but these little guys crack me up. (It helps to wait for the thumbprints to dry before adding ink. Found that out the hard way!)
Four
Pumpkin Joke
What do you call a pumpkin that works at the beach?
A life-gourd.

Five
Hooray for Pumpkintown! My favorite place in the whole world!
I’ll be back there in October! Can’t wait! But if you don’t live in New England, you can still be part of the fun. Stop by my new website pumpkintownbooks.com for lots of cool stuff and info about school visits.
I hope you enjoy the Pumpkintown Book series. If you liked this newsletter, please spread the word! Thank you for reading, pumpkin pals!
